Sustainability is a key focus and we have a range of initiatives in place, supervised by our sustainability taskforce.
We have received the Investors in the Environment bronze award and are members of the British Bee Veterinary Association.
As well as this, we have five key areas to target:
- Reducing our consumption of energy and raw materials
- Reducing waste and carbon emissions
- Systematically assessing the environmental impact of our practice
- Setting annual targets to ensure we’re measuring our progress
- Getting feedback and guidance on our work, for example via accreditation from Investors in the Environment
We hope in this way to do our bit in keeping our communities green and healthy, as well as playing our role in the protection of the wider world.

How we’re making a difference
We take our commitment to being as sustainable as possible very seriously.
Here are a few of the initiatives we’ve put in place to maximise our positive impact on our communities.
- We have planters around the practice with specific bee friendly plants in them, as well as wildlife areas with feeders for birds and log piles for insects.
- We promote our cycle to work scheme to all of our team.
- We make recyclable stickers for our pet food bags, to help our clients who may not realise these can be recycled.
- We have introduced reusable cloths into the branches for wiping down consult room tables, theatres and wards, rather than paper towels, which created a lot of waste.
- We no longer use nitrous gas as pain relief and use other, more sustainable and equally effective methods.
These are just some of our areas of focus, and we continue to take advice and try new things to be the best we can be.
